If you’ve ever wanted to make a meeting or event optional, you’re in luck now you can do it by adding optional attendees in Google Calendar. Google has made it possible. By adding an option to include optional attendees in Google Calendar, you can now do so. Just make sure to make the invitation clear that participation is optional. This tip is especially useful for events that involve many people. Send invitations through Google Groups to make sure people know they’re welcome to come to the meeting but aren’t required to do so.
Invite guests to make their attendance optional
A new feature in Google Calendar makes it easy to invite guests to make their attendance optional. This new feature brings Google Calendar closer to the desktop application. You can now toggle the attendance of guests from optional to mandatory and back again. This new feature is especially useful for business users, because it allows you to have an event where guests are not required to attend. This feature is a great addition to Google Calendar. It will be released to the public shortly.

If you are having an event that involves several people, it is easy to add everyone in the same event. You can do this by adding an email group. To invite the entire group, you need to add their email addresses to Google Calendar. Then, double-click the event you wish to invite. Click on the list of existing invitees and then choose the option to invite new attendees. Select the “Guests can modify” field and click “Yes.” After that, you can add or remove the attendees to the event.
In Google Calendar, you can also disable the option to invite guests. In this way, the attendees of your event will only be sent the details of the event and will have the option to RSVP. If you want to change the date or time of the event, you can edit the details and invite the guests to the meeting. You can even add an attachment if necessary. When they RSVP, the organizer will know how many people are coming.
Send invitations via Google Groups
If you have large groups to invite, the best way is to use Google Groups to invite everyone. With Google Groups, you can invite up to 200 people to an event. When sending out the invitations, you can simply select the attendees in an existing event or create a new one. Then, type in the email addresses of the guests who should attend the event. Choosing a group automatically adds all members to the invite list.
To add attendees to a Google Group, you must have access to the list of members. If the group does not have a Gmail account, you can use the distribution list instead. Once you’ve added the attendees, you can save the event details and send them out. When the invitations are sent, they will contain an RSVP option. Once the attendees have confirmed their attendance, click “Send invitations via Google Groups to optional attendees in google Calendar.”
You can also make events optional by marking them as optional. To do so, simply sign into your Google Calendar account. Once you’ve signed in, you’ll see a small pop-up window. Then, you’ll see a gray contact icon next to the guest’s name. To remove an invitee, tap it to remove them from the list. You’ll have to do this for each event you plan to invite to avoid accidentally uninviting people.
Make it clear that participation is voluntary
You don’t always have to include everyone you invite to a meeting or conference call as a required guest. Google Calendar offers the ability to add optional attendees to events, letting you decide whether or not they’d like to attend. This feature is not always obvious, but it’s worth noting. Optional attendees can still propose a different time, or even propose a new location if they’re unable to attend.
